A revamped offensive line saw the first changes following the release of 340-pound guard Jermaine Pruitt.
“He was not where we needed him to be as far as being in shape right now,” Carr during Wednesday night’s practice at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Pruitt, an all-IFL first-team selection last season, was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Slaughter in exchange for the rights to restricted free agent linebacker Tyrone Myers.
Carr said former Extreme center Luke Wickman has rejoined the team but will not be ready for a week or two. Prenny Stokes will move from the defensive line to center and Joe Niklasch will shift from center to his natural guard position for Saturday’s 7 p.m. home game against the Green Bay Blizzard, a Central North Division rival.
Receiver Ottis Lewis’ status for the game is questionable as he nurses a back injury suffered against Richmond.
