Jermaine Pruitt, a 6-foot-3, 340-pound offensive lineman, joined the team following a trade with the Chicago Slaughter. Pruitt, an all-IFL first-team choice playing for the El Paso Generals last season, was acquired in exchange for the rights to restricted free agent linebacker Tyrone Myers.
Kenton Carr's team looked strong in the early stages of the scrimmage. Quarterback Luke Drone connected with Harry Lewis on a touchdown pass on the first offensive series, and Eric McCollom led another scoring drive with a nice pass over the middle and a scramble for positive yardage. Defensive back James Temple intercepted a Cincinnati pass in the end zone and Vincent Joseph broke up a pass to thwart another Cyclones drive.
The Extreme must cut its roster to 30 by Thursday ahead of Saturday's season opener against the Richmond Renegades at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
