blog.seattlepi.com/seattlesports/archives/191977.aspThe Kent Predators, an expansion franchise in the 25-team Indoor Football League, have named William McCarthy as their first head coach.
The IFL was formed in 2008 and has franchises in 13 states, with a 14-game regular season that runs from February through June.
Now the Predators just need some players, a process that continues with the team's second open tryout Sunday at the ShoWare Center.
McCarthy previously was as an assistant coach with the El Paso Generals, where he worked for Predators president of football operations Brian Brents.
His first task will be putting together a 45-man roster for next month's training camp. Interested players can attend Sunday's tryout from 1-5 p.m. at a cost of $65.
Tryout participants must be at least 18 years old and will be evaluated in various drills. The first tryout camp in December resulted in the signing of 15 prospects.

Tickets for the seven home games in 2010 will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. through the ShoWare Center Box Office and the Predators' website.
Ticket prices will range from $14.50 to $42 per game.
