www.elpasotimes.com/sports/ci_14165136EL PASO - The El Paso Generals will not play this year. The Indoor Football League announced the team would be out for the season when the franchise posted this year's game schedule on their Web site.
"Unfortunately, the El Paso Generals have made a decision to not play in 2010," the site states. "It is hoped that the league will be able to place a team in El Paso for the 2011 season."
In December, Paul Strelzin, the team's announcer, said the Generals' owner was trying to sell the team. Three or four groups at that time were interested in the team.
The Generals went 12-2 in their first four-month season, which ended in August. They lost in the conference championship game to the Billings (Mont.) Outlaws.
