www.dcabloob.com/2009/10/dc-armor-indoor-football-unlikely-to.htmlThe D.C. Armor indoor football team is considered unlikely to return to the D.C. Armory for play in 2010, according to a representative of the Washington Convention and Sports Authority. RollCall.com reported the remarks from Erik Moses, senior vice president and managing director of the authority's Sports, Entertainment and Special Events division, as part of a profile article about the D.C. Armory.
The local franchise of the American Indoor Football Association played all of one season in the 10,000 seat Armory before anemic crowds unofficially estimated in the hundreds. The Armor did not report official attendance for most of its home games.
It is not yet known whether the D.C. Armor will attempt to play a 2010 season in another locale or simply be discontinued altogether. No official word on the Armor's 2010 status has yet been released either by the team or the AIFA. Armor representatives remain unreachable for comment.
