What is up with South Texas?

From the front office source, latest news is that the Texas Tough Riders (NO SOUTH) team is still alive and working very hard to play 2008 season. That leads to the real question? Where are they playing! The team was working under the league management until 3/22/08 @ 11:10 PM the team was sold. The league had no rights to sell a team they do not own. In the middle of this, the league contracted Coach Coleman from Florida to become the Head Coach. A very good coach by the way. After the news of the team being sold, they left him abandon in San Antonio. After a couple of meeting the team joined with the original staff. Coach Coleman was never fired and the only person that helped him out was the original General Manager Stacio. He house and feed the Coach Coleman and even paid for him to return in time for Easter with his family in Florida. Only wish they could have work out a contract. The new owner (Chris Abrego) told us that he paid 10K for the team and we have a schedule from the APFL as of March 17th. It was posted on the team website www.ridersfootball.com and then removed March 24. The future seems rocky right now but we all want to play for the APFL. We don’t believe the IIFA will complete the 2008 season. If the IIFA can sell a team they don’t even own what else will they do to make money? Well stay tune for more guarantee drama!

Hearing all the turmoil with the league it makes wonder what the collateral damage will do to the APFL,Who seem to be on the verge of its best and strongest season to date. Having an influx of GOOD teams being added would be fine....but not this late, this would be a blow to the #%**&%$# credibility perception perceived by many in the IFF community. Basically this, it's too bad your league has thrown you a "crap sandwich" but I don't want to get any of it on me(APFL) ! So go wash up and come back next year...? I guess. Its not fair ,cool, professional or anything one of a number of positive adjectives but... it is what it is

I'm just wondering from the IIFA side how much of this is true. Maybe someone will respond to these alligations.

The last thing we want is to cause any problems. We want to play and we have our hopes that we can be accepted in the APFL. The original 2 owner were Mark Ricker and Stacio Galvan who has put everything on the line for the team. He was shock to find out that the league tried to sale the team with out contacting either of the two owners. Coach Abrego was caught in the middle of the back stabbing because he also believes San Antonio is ready to get a professional team. I also believe that Coach Abrego has made contact with the APFL and is talking about playing in the 2008 season. I can insure that our team will be ready for the APFL powerhouses. I have tried to contact the league office but Mr. Banner and Mr. Hendrix have not replied. This is what I have heard from the Coaching staff during our team meeting. Hope to find out soon also

You have never tryed to contact me (Larry Hendrix) and the reason Coach Coleman went back to FL is because he falsified our league contract with him.

I don’t know Larry if that’s true but I do know that Coach Coleman was a great addition to this team and would have been for the over all good of the indoor organizations. He had done more in 4 days than anything before him. Coach Coleman also ran a great practice session and I wish we had him NOW!
Coach Stacio said he tried calling you and the commissioner (which is phone is disconnected) and no one would answer or return his calls. It is funny that if this league IIFA own the Rough Riders team why then did they not communicate with the staff. During practice to prove a point the coaches would call and no one answer. Maybe you all were to busy coaching or trying to sell more teams which you do not own.
Larry we even heard the conversation between you and Coach Stacio about the turf. You first promise to bring it January 5th and then February 16th. Both time you said you are getting it painted. It is only 50 yard long not 100 yards. We still have not seen or heard from you since. But as long as your team is ready to play, that’s what really matters right?

What this situation tells us all is it looks like anyone can do it (until you start taking on the weight of the business)

No offense intended here...but is this really message board material? Shouldn't this be handled with private e-mails and private phone calls? Inside information is one thing. Transacting business via a message board is quite another.

We just wanted to join a good league without this back stabbing. We have but hours of conditioning and sweat to not play this year. We don’t care who the owner is or who has the money. We just want to play. We were told that the IIFA was a league to help us developed for the future. What developed, it is more like who can survivor the longest. If anyone can contact our staff and let them know which league to join.
