By RYAN T. BOYD - rboyd@bradenton.com
The home debut of the Florida Scorpions, an indoor professional football team, scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. at the Manatee Convention Center has been cancelled.
The Scorpions were slated to host the Tampa Bay Tigers, but a large majority of the protective walls, which enclosed the field weren’t delivered. The team needed 100, 4-feet-by-8-feet walls, and only 26 were dropped off at the convention center.
Alton Walker, owner/general manager of the Scorpions, a member of the American Professional Football League, said no make-up date has been scheduled.
“It would have been too much of a safety risk,” Walker said. “With the kids being here, if one of the kids would have stepped too far down on the field and would have gotten hit by a ball or players being tackled that fan would be injured. We felt that it would be in our best interest to postpone the game.”

I saw that too. But if you check the teams schedule and the PASM Florida Kings schedule, both say these two teams are playing at the Scorpions field that day. Maybe after the last game they do not want to play each other again I read the following posted on the IndoorFootballForum:

hmm then they may just be changing the team they play that day. I spoke with my coach last night and he said we will be playing them July 11th, then we will be playing the Kings on the 18th. I am the kicker for the Tigers.
I also spoke to the Scorpions minor league team's coach and he said that they will be attended the rescheduled july 11th game so as of right now all fingers are pointed towards the Tigers vs Scorpions on July 11th.
I was a little confused about that as well.
