Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, the Maniacs will try to make it six wins in a row in a rematch against the Saginaw Sting.
On Friday night, the Maniacs traveled to Saginaw, Mich., and beat the Sting, 41-32. Darryl Overton ran for a touchdown and caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Bryson Spinner, who threw for four touchdowns.
Maryland got the scoring started early when Saginaw misplayed the opening kickoff and the Maniacs fell on the ball in the Sting end zone for a touchdown. Saginaw scored the next two touchdowns to take a 13-7 lead. But the Maniacs struck twice in the second quarter and got the only touchdown of the third quarter to take a 28-16 lead heading into the fourth period. Spinner connected on a scoring pass to Derrick McBryde and hit Overton for a TD in the second quarter. Overton had a 1-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter and caught a 44-yard TD pass from Spinner early in the fourth quarter that made it a 34-16 Maryland lead.......article continues in link.
