The South Carolina Force can make a quick turnaround tonight, hosting the same team that recently ended their first winning streak.
The Force had won two straight games before falling to the Columbus Lions 54-33 on May 2. The Lions will visit the Bi-Lo Center at 7 tonight.
While turning around their record, the Force also will look to turn around their slipping attendance numbers. The team announced this week it would cut ticket prices nearly in half and bring fans closer to the wall-to-wall action. All tickets will be moved to the lower bowl of the Bi-Lo Center. The general admission tickets will range from $7 to $10, while the “Eagle's Nest” seats along the bounding wall will cost $20 each.
More than 4,000 fans attended the team's opening game; however, the Force have attracted slightly more than 4,000 combined in the two home appearances since.
The Force have compiled a 1-2 record at the Bi-Lo Center.
Columbus (6-2) is tied for first in the AIFA South Division, in which the Force (3-4) are fourth. The Lions lead the league in total points with 438. The Force have managed only 61 percent of that production.
The Lions have averaged 70 points while compiling a 4-0 record at home. However, Columbus has averaged only 39.5 points on the road. The Lions are 2-2 in road games. The Force have allowed only 43 points per game at the Bi-Lo Center. The last time there, the team recorded the franchise's first home victory, 37-27 over the Carolina Speed.
