Conquerors owner/coach Franklin Thomas said the team used the off time to study film from their first two games and get a better understanding of the indoor football game.
“We have a lot of young guys that never played the game before,” Thomas said. “In those first two weeks, these guys got a chance to get some experience under their belts. The off week comes at a good time because it gives the guys a chance to see what indoor football is all about.
“We can use this off week to go over the things they learned in the first two weeks.”
Inexperience might have played a major role in the Conquerors’ 0-2 start. Houma opened the season with a 46-27 loss to the Texas Pirates in Houston and followed it up with a 64-32 loss to the Austin Turfcats in their home opener.
