Ravenell earned All-Southern Conference honors from 2004 to 2006 and was named an All-American in 2004 and 2006. He finished his career at Furman ranked seventh all-time with 12.5 sacks.
Despite his productivity on the defensive line, Ravenell has always considered linebacker his natural position.
Now, lining up for the South Carolina Force, Ravenell returned home to the linebacker spot two weeks ago and helped the Force earn its first home victory last week. He will help the Force look for a third straight victory, as the team visits Columbus tonight at 7 p.m.
Although Ravenell's switch to linebacker coincides with the start of the Force's modest two-game winning streak, the idea was planted before the season even opened.
"Actually, it was at the beginning of season, but we didn't have two defensive ends on the squad," Ravenell said. "That was my position coming out of college. The coaches told me, 'Play end until we get another defensive end, but we really like you at Mack (linebacker).'......article continues in link.
