www.madison.com/tct/mad/sports/448793ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Wisconsin Wolfpack struggled in its first game without injured quarterback Tom Stetzer, falling 25-21 to the Rock River Raptors in a Continental Indoor Football League game on Saturday night.
The Wolfpack (4-2) failed to score an offensive touchdown until the fourth quarter without Stetzer, who is done for the season due to a shoulder injury.
Tex Brown returned a kickoff 56 yards for a score and ran for a late touchdown, and Sam D'Alie made two interceptions in the end zone and forced a fumble, but Madison lost to its Western Division rival for the first time in three meetings this year.
The Wolfpack rallied from a 25-7 deficit to pull within four points after Brown's second touchdown and a two-point conversion by Eric Donoval, and got the ball back after blocking a Raptors field goal attempt. But the comeback hopes ended when new quarterback Brent Luebke was intercepted.
Rock River quarterback Brian Ryczkowski -- who plays for the Wolfpack's outdoor summer team -- threw for two touchdowns.
Next up for the Wolfpack is a game against the Milwaukee Bonecrushers on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Alliant Energy Center Coliseum. Tickets are available by visiting wiwolfpack.com/indoor or ticketmaster.com.
