And they’ll get just that by playing their home opener against the Austin Turfcats in the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center at 5 p.m. Sunday.
It will be the first professional indoor football game in Houma since the Bayou Bucks folded in 2004.
The Conquerors, who dropped their first game to the Texas Pirates, 46-27, last Sunday in Houston, hope playing at home will help them get their first win in franchise history.
“We expect a crazy atmosphere in the Civic Center on Sunday,” Conquerors owner/coach Franklin Thomas said. “The entire organization is excited about playing in front of our home crowd. That’s something to be proud about, and we’ll step up to the plate. You always want to play good at home. That’s what we expect to do for our fans.”
Kicker Chris Stropolo, a former Nicholls State player who played for the Bayou Bucks, said he has been anxious all week thinking about the return of indoor football to Houma. ......article continues in link.
