www.theadvertiser.com/article/20090424/SPORTS/904240326/1006If you looked up the word "journeyman" in the dictionary, you might find a picture of John Fourcade. And there's a good reason for that.
The former New Orleans Saints quarterback has been on a unique odyssey in his professional football career, either having played or coached for 16 different teams.
Stop No. 16 on the Fourcade tour brings him to Lafayette, where he will lead the Acadiana Mudbugs of the Southern Indoor Football League into the franchise's home opener at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday at Blackham Coliseum.
Fourcade's hoping this stop is his last - or at least this area is his final destination.
"I'm not leaving Louisiana or the Gulf Coast. I'm going to be around here for good," the New Orleans native said. "I'm home to stay. My whole thing is I'm done, I want to stay in Louisiana now. I have other business ventures that I'm exploring right now.
"I'm not leaving again. If we get things rolling here and Lafayette does what it's capable of doing, I can see myself settling down here. I'd have no problem having a place here in Lafayette and one in New Orleans."
Fourcade is believed to have played for more teams in more leagues than anyone in the history of professional football, playing for seven different teams in five different leagues.....article continues in link.
