www.nj.com/morristown/jasonlockhart/index.ssf/2009/04/revolution_avoid_sting_in_seas.htmlThe New Jersey Revolution stung the East Penn Sting on Saturday night at Mennen Arena in Morris Township.
The home team gave the Big Northeast Football Federation franchise a 77-18 defeat to start the season on a positive note.
"We were scoring on one- to two plays per drive," said Al Forsythe, Revolution head coach, who praised his offense for winning with a backup quarterback. "We scored 77 points on 10 plays."
The Sting knew it was in for a long game when it trailed 49-12 at halftime. But this was only a preseason game for the Sting.
Sting players still are competing for spots on the team's roster.
The Revolution (1-0) entered Saturday's season opener with a lot of new talent from the Tri-State area, including quarterback Jay Hawes, who threw four touchdowns and rushed for another........article continues in link.

www.nj.com/morristown/jasonlockhart/index.ssf/2009/04/revs_face_true_test_against_ma.html#moreThe New Jersey Revolution may have looked like the best team in the Continental Indoor Football League last Saturday night, crushing the East Penn Sting 77-18.
But tomorrow at 7 they will be facing a high-scoring Marion Mayhem team in their second home game at Morris Township's Mennen Arena.
The Mayhem (3-2) are the second-best offense in the CIFL, averaging 46.4 points per game.
They are hoping to bounce back from a 74-60 loss to the undefeated Chicago Slaughter.
The Revolution (1-0) are aware that the Mayhem were a playoff team last season, but they don't know much else about the Ohio-based team.
"We've never seen film on this team before," said Al Forsythe, Revolution head coach. "But they never saw film on us either."
There are a few things the Revolution players must .......article continues in link.

www.nj.com/morristown/jasonlockhart/index.ssf/2009/04/revs_buck_broncos_in_unexpecte.htmlThe New Jersey Revolution came into Saturday's game expecting to play indoor football against the Marion Mayhem----their assigned opponent.
But due to scheduling conflicts, the Mayhem were a no-show at the Mennen Arena in Morris Township.
The Revolution (2-0) played against a lesser opponent that was thrown together at the last minute. The New York State Broncos (0-1), a new franchise in the Continental Indoor Football League, only fielded eight players--and took a 62-0 thrashing by the Revolution.
"A lot of our guys could not make it to the game," said Broncos head coach Robert Cruz, who also played. "I had to play with the guys because we were short on players.".......article continues in link.

The writer likes to state that all the teams the Revolution play are in the CIFL which we know is not true. I am not even sure if the Revolution are still considered to be a part of the league.
Still, it's good to see the team did not go dark.

They're a dormant member of the CIFL.
