The South Carolina Force earned the franchise's first victory last week, edging the Harrisburg Stampede 40-37 in Pennsylvania.
The Force (1-2) will pursue their second straight victory - and the franchise's first home win - when it returns tonight to the Bi-Lo Center to host the Florence Phantoms (3-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Force hope for an even better turnout than their franchise home opener on March 21, in which the team recorded an official attendance of 4,004.
Andrew Webb, who played at Clinton High School, took over at quarterback last week from former University of South Carolina quarterback Blake Mitchell, who is no longer with the team. Webb finished 20-for-30, amassing 221 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
"He just needed a shot," Force coach Tony Wells said of Webb. "I'm not going to jinx him, but he really showed some promise. We don't need a superstar. We just need someone to get the ball out. We have some dynamite receivers who can catch it and run it."......article continues in link.
