After stumbling in the second half last week to absorb a loss, the Harrisburg Stampede will look to rebound Saturday night at the Farm Show Arena.
Harrisburg (1-2) takes on the Columbus (Ga.) Lions (3-1) at 7 p.m. in an American Indoor Football Association crossover contest.
The Stampede (1-2), who blew a 10-point halftime lead by coming out flat in the second half against the South Carolina Force, were outscored 26-13 in a 40-37 defeat. Following the game, several Harrisburg players vowed that the fans would see a different team on Saturday.
"In a three-hour span [after the game], you feel bad ... but then you move on," Stampede coach Kelly Logan said. "We have to focus on Columbus, which is a good team. We're a team that can beat them and I feel positive that we'll bounce back this week."
Harrisburg will be without one of its top defenders in linebacker Thomas Potts, who injured his right knee in last week's loss. According to Logan, Potts is on injured reserve and receiver Silas Daniels (groin) is questionable. In some good news, the team will get back defensive lineman Zack Toomey (groin).
The Harrisburg offense is progressing each game with quarterback A.J. Roque playing in a groove. Roque has passed for 471 yards and eight touchdowns with his main receiver being Rafael Cooper (17 receptions for 185 yards and 3 TDs).
Columbus blasted the Baltimore Mariners 82-19 last week as rookie quarterback Bill Ashburn fired four touchdown passes, three going to standout receiver Troy Bergeron.
For the season, Ashburn has passed for 612 yards and 11 scores. Columbus, averaging 59.0 points, also has a good running game, featuring Richard Fitzhugh (104 yards and 7 TDs), who scored four times last week.
