The Allen Wranglers are going broke ... and that's why the indoor football team suddenly dropped Terrell Owens this week -- at least according to one of Terrell's former Wranglers coaches.
The coach -- who didn't want to be named -- tells TMZ, the decision to cut Terrell this week was purely financial, and had nothing to do with the fact T.O. missed a recent team trip to a children's hospital ... as Wranglers President Tommy Benizio told TMZ.
The coach is calling BS because he says Terrell played three games after the hospital visit early this month.
Benizio also said Terrell was cut because of his performance -- but T.O.'s ex-coach tells us, Terrell was a star on the team, putting up 10 TDs in 8 games ... "a total professional since day one."
The coach thinks T.O. was the latest in a series of budget-related cuts on the Wranglers -- a culling that included the coach himself, who was let go in March.
The coach says Wranglers owner John Frankel was embarrassed about signing Terrell to an expensive contract he couldn't afford. But Benizio maintains T.O. was dropped over performance and behavior issues -- and insists money had nothing to do with it.

Drugbust I believe this 100 %. I posted on Yahoo SPorts as well as MSN Sports that people really don't know about the inner workings of the IFL and I smelled a rat...and I'll leave it at that. I felt from the info we had that T.O. held up his end of the bargain and this was a bad idea in my opinion by T.O. to even sign with the IFL despite his past bad wrap and obvious financial problems. I hope he sues the IFL for the embarassment they have caused him and the damage they may have caused him if any of possibly signing with another NFL team this year. Someone should take him, there are many NFL teams who could use him from a production standpoint alone. Just my opinion.

I know you do and so do I. I heard about some of the things they did when your team played scheduled games against member teams, they try to hide behind certain facts, but there are many violations I have seen including players being overpaid, or getting special favors outside the league rules, it's a mess. Also there are franchising violations and morally unethical business practices throughout.

You know the funny thing about all of this. The SIFL was the only league up front with me and paid me all of my money.

Yeah too bad because you have had good teams over the years and were trying to get into other leagues and some of the credibility of those leagues was lacking. SO, what do you really think about the LSFL..Is it going to be like the original "Texas" Intense Football League or do you think it's new and would you consider putting your team in that league?? I had a great experience with San Angelo a few years ago and they will bebcak next year. I haven't been keeping up with the league much, but I think they have not missed any games or used replacement teams.

The LSFL is a good league the Houston needs to play in a cheaper venue that killed them. I like the Ruff Riders and West Texas organiztion they run thinks right. Me and West Texas owner got screwed over by the IFL. But I dont care for Dittman. Would I join their league no......I like indoor rule better than arena rules.

Yeah I agree...Dittman, Benizio, Haines, Mink...the list goes on. Indoor rules allow for a more versatile game and provide for more balance because there is more running. Defense is different as well. I didnt know Dittman was a major player in the LSFL. I thought it was Ms. Darlene Jones. I met her in SanAngelo and she ran a 1st class organization down there for years. Oh yeah, what are your thoughts on the UIFL and them accepting a new team from the St. Louis, MO area???Seems strange right, both from a travel aspect as well as the fact that the UIFL was VERY unstable this year. Too bad. Maybe the PIFL is an OK league too, but since you're in TX that wouldnt work for you. Wouldn't it be nice to have a great Midwestern regional indoor league? You could have the APFL teams and add some Texas teams and I think Arkansas needs a team or 2 as well

Your right about Dittman his not running things in the LSFL. He wasn't at the league meeting before the season start he saves money with his teams because he uses limited staff. His GM is the GM for all 3 of his teams. UIFL fees are out there they contacted me about joining 100k to join hell no. The APFL is good fix for me because of cost and style of play. Plus I would like to get back at SC i plyed against them back in 2000 as a player.

I'm wondering why the APFL hasn't expanded to Texas yet. It would be a great fit. Also, like I said Northwest Arkansas can still support a team be it in Fayetteville or Ft. Smith. Both towns have suitable venues for indoor ball. I would like to see Texas, Arkansas, Kansas (besides Topeka), Oklahoma (besides Tulsa), Independence, Missouri has a nice arena...All I'm saying is right now with the economy the way it is, the APFL would be the way to go to at least start out, then as you start makin money, if you want to move to a higher league. 100K for that league though??? I agree with you heck no, it aint worth it, not enough stability and very unorganized. I feel you about SC, they need to get knocked off their high horse, I think the only hope for this year is OK Defenders.

Yeah I talked to the guy that owns the Enid Enforcers semi-pro outdoor team and asked him why they haven't done anything with that nice arena in Enid. He mentioned they were thinking about it. SOmebody should. Also there are suitable arenas in Muskogee, OK and Claremore, OK the Muskogee Civic Center has expanded and the Claremore Expo Center would be good. Also, I always thought it would have been a good idea for years for one of the Indian tribes there to own an arena team. They coulld put it right by one of the many casinos there. You are right about MO..I was just thinking because I heard that the Independence, MO arena needs more activities there because its a nice arena.
