Game Preview - Blizzard Open Season at Defending IFL Champions

Blizzard Update: New Head Coach Robert Fuller makes his Blizzard debut against the defending IFL champions. Fuller was the 2011 IFL Coach of the Year. The Blizzard return several key players from 2011: BJ Hill (DB/KR) is back for his 3rd season after being named the 2011 IFL Special Teams Player of the Year, Greg Jackson (LB) is one of the league's top tacklers and wide receiver Scott Burnoski (WR) is fully healthy after suffering a season ending ankle injury in 2011. Green Bay native Andrew Verboncouer (RB) and Bryan Pray (WR) also return. Donovan Porterie takes over at quarterback after leading the Fairbanks Grizzlies to a division title and playoff appearance last season. Porterie passed for 30 touchdowns and only six interceptions with Fairbanks. La'Ron Council joins the Blizzard after finishing as the IFL's second leading rusher in 2011.
Storm Update: 2011 IFL MVP Chris Dixon returns as the Storm quarterback. Dixon had 74 passing touchdowns and 21 rushing touchdowns last season. Sioux Falls returns an offensive line that rarely gives up a sack and playmaking wide receiver Carl Sims. The Storm has added wide receiver Clinton Solomon to the offense. Solomon was in Wichita last season and had 20 receiving touchdowns.
Series: Sioux Falls leads the series 2-0. The Blizzard and Storm met for the first time on May 15, 2011. The Blizzard struggled to score touchdowns and settled for six field goals in the game and were defeated by the Storm 57-38. The two teams also met in the 2011 United Conference Championship game. The Storm topped the Blizzard 52-12.
Stats: In 2011, Sioux Falls led the IFL in scoring with 73 points per game. Green Bay ranked third with 54.6 points per game.
