From the artical in the CIFL section. iffboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cifl&thread=11034... "The league is looking at some options for building a merger with the (American Professional Football League) for 2013. I like the direction things are headed. It gives us the option for future expansion and having an Eastern and Western conference and play games like that." ...

I also would like to see the Cifl/Apfl as a bigger league but if it falls through or is unstable and teams start bailing, I think it could be the end of both leagues...

I don't see how this benefits...the APFL.

I would suspect the same. The APFL right now has a better stable of teams than the CIFL.

doesnt the cifl pay its players and the apfl does not? In the APFL, paying players is optional. Some teams do, some teams don't, and I think the ceiling of what you can pay players is probably a little lower than other leagues. I'm not sure about the CIFL's rules, but I'd be a little surprised if all of those teams are paying players.

I've been off the board for a few months now, and yet things never seem to change.....
In my opinion, if they want some sort of merger, merge for a championship game or something like that. To me, it would not make any sense to merge.... would you even play cross-division games anyway?
Maybe just a championship game against each league. The APFL is the Rasputin of indoor leagues... you just can't kill them, and good for them. I'm a fan. I want to see the APFL keep going, and I think a merger would not work.
