Topeka, KS – The American Professional Football League officially announced the addition of the Cheyenne Warriors as the newest League member on Friday. The Warriors will begin play in the spring of 2012. The Warriors home games will be played at the Wyoming Ice & Events Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
“We are excited to add the Warriors to our expanding roster of regional teams to the APFL,” said APFL President Ralph Adams. “We continue to actively search for quality teams that fit our regional criteria. Cheyenne is a great city and the Warriors are a quality organization that we believe will be a great addition both on and off the field. We are confident that they will find a home with us for years to come.”
The APFL is the longest continuously operating indoor professional football league in America. The 2012 season represents the tenth year of League play. The Warriors are the sixth team on the roster for the 2012 season. The APFL is currently made up of the 2011 APFL champion Sioux City (IA) Bandits; Iowa Blackhawks from Council Bluffs, Iowa; Kansas Koyotes from Topeka, Kansas; Mid-Missouri Outlaws from Sedalia, Missouri; and the Springfield (MO) Wolf Pack.
The APFL is looking to expand further this year with more announcements coming in the next few weeks.
“This is an exciting time to be a fan of the APFL. We continue to grow and add teams as it makes sense for the long-term good of Indoor Professional Football in the region we represent,” added Adams.
