The Facebook page lists the contact as the same guy that was bringing indoor football to Lincoln?
Is Lincoln finished already?

There is one team in Council Bluffs, if everything goes right. It'll be called the Council Bluffs Express. And Lincoln is NOT done. We've been working very hard to make it happen.

so what are everyone's thoughts that both Council Bluffs AND Lincoln can support these teams?

I would say yes, if Lincoln hadn't been burned in the past. It would be like starting an indoor football team in St. Joseph. CB (the city) has never really supported the Blackhawks. There was, however, a small dedicated group of very loyal fans.

It's a shame that the city never got behind this. I wish this new team the best of luck in their endeavors. Looks like they might have an uphill battle on their hands.

c'mon now, there have been 100 views at the last post and NO ONE is going to comment??? I'm one of the viewers, and honestly have to say this doesn't surprise me in some ways, but this has been years coming. Can't wait to see what the league looks like this year. Still not committing myself to 2012 unless I see/hear major (positive) changes being made. Not sure what to think just of yet.

I too think the name change was inevitable. I mean look the name they had wasn't conducive to selling Merchandise or Marketing. Anyone could have gone out and puchased a Generic University of Iowa Hat with an I on it or tshirt and it would have worked for the games.
The Express plays off of the area's history (sort of seeing as Omaha has history with Union Pacific) and it works for me.
I just hope that they have the things in place that they need to have because if they do I will be going back across the river for my Indoor football. Mainly because the Beef Prices are so high that it's almost rediculous and other issues that I think everyone is well aware of that make me no longer want to support that team.
I wish the Express the best of luck as well and hope to see them on the Turf at the Mac in the Spring.

Is it a different ownership group than last season? It seems like the Blackhawks had a lot in place to be successful. As a Sioux City fan, I'd be lying if I didn't say I hope the Bandits cherry pick some of the players off the Blackhawks, but I doubt that will be possible. This league seems to have a lot more player loyalty than other indoor leagues where guys jump around on a yearly basis.

I can't say for certain as I have no inside knowledge of what's going on in Council Bluffs but From what I've heard at least one of the owners from last year is no longer an owner of the team. Said owner, from what I heard really had no interest in moving the team forward.
I'll be ecstatic if the Express do play (which I've been told is like a 99% go baring a catastrophic issue arrising) because I simply cannot afford the Ticket Prices for the Beef and refuse to support a team who's owner is involved in what has been reported.
One thing is for sure, It should be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next 6 months or so.
