LSFL Welcomes the Houston Stallions for 2012 Season
SAN ANGELO, TX. : The Lone Star Football League is pleased to announce on Thursday, September 15 that the newly established indoor professional football league has officially invited the Houston Stallions to join the LSFL for the 2012 inaugural season.
The Houston Stallions have become the first team to officially join the Lone Star Football League which will begin the inaugural season for the spring of 2012. The Stallions enter the LSFL following an historic first season as a member of the SIFL in 2011. As part of the SIFL in 2011, the Houston Stallions enjoyed an undefeated regular season (12-0) including a Division Championship and a trip to the Western Conference Championship game. The Stallions will officially hold all their home games at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas for the upcoming 2012 season.
"We are absolutely excited to be joining the Lone Star Football League for the 2012 season. The Stallions organization is coming off an historic first season and we are excited about hosting our games at the Merrell Center. Football has become a traditional success in the city of Katy, and we are proud of the support that we have received from the local community as well as the Chamber of Commerce and the Katy Independent School District." stated Houston Stallions Team Owner Joe Kramer.
In addition to becoming a charter member of the LSFL, the Houston Stallions are excited to welcome back Head Coach Gerald Dockery for his second season with the organization. Dockery and his coaching staff led the Stallions to a 13-1 overall record in 2011.
