Carolina Flies into UIFL, Announce Head Coach and Tryouts
RALEIGH, NC - The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) is announcing that the Carolina Aviators will be the name of the expansion team in Raleigh, N.C. that will be a part of the Southern Division in 2012.
The Aviators will don the colors of navy blue, white and silver.
In addition, Carolina has announced that former Huntington head coach Josh Resignalo will return to the UIFL as the Aviators' head coach. Resignalo led the Hammer to a 4-3 record before resigning midseason due to family reasons. He would finish the 2011 season with the Harrisburg Stampede, a member of the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL). The Stampede, who were 0-6 when he took over, finished the season at 2-10.
Resignalo is heavily involved with the AFL's Tulsa Talons Scouting department, where he assists in running the Talons Free Agent Camps. The Talons finished its AFL season at 8-10.
The Carolina Aviators will be having their first open tryouts for the 2012 season Saturday, September 17 at NetSports (3717 Davis Dr., Morrisville, NC 27560). Registration will be at 12 pm with tryouts beginning at 1pm. Turf shoes are required and tryouts will be indoors on turf. Pre-Registration is $50, and $65 at the door.
