MARION, OH- The Marion Blue Racers are proud to announce that they have come to terms with former Ohio State standout and six-year NFL veteran Lorenzo Styles. Styles, A two-time All-Big Ten linebacker and Butkus Award finalist with the Buckeyes, will be the next Head Coach of The Marion Blue Racers Organization.
Styles was drafted in the third round by the Atlanta Falcons in 1995. He was a member of the St. Louis Rams' "Greatest Show on Turf" 1999 Super Bowl championship team. Styles joins fellow 1995 NFL 3rd round draft pick Melvin Tuten on the Blue Racer's Coaching Staff as well as 1995 Super Bowl Running Back, Blue Racer CEO and General Manager, LaMonte Coleman as major assets in the development and recruitment of young football players, as they aspire to the National Football League.
Lorenzo Styles had this to say after signing his first head coaching contract, "I want to thank Mr. Coleman and the Blue Racer organization for welcoming me and giving me this opportunity. I plan on using my success in the NFL and The Ohio State University to bring a championship to Marion, Ohio."
"We just got better today with the overall marketing and development of young professional athletes looking to ascend to higher leagues, with the hiring of coach Styles," former Pittsburgh Steeler and fellow Ohio State Buckeye, CEO and General Manager, LaMonte Coleman said.
