Lehigh Valley Steelhawks announce signing of nine players for next seasonwww.lehighvalleylive.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/08/lehigh_valley_steelhawks_sign_1.htmlThe Lehigh Valley Steelhawks have signed nine players to contracts for next season, according to a team press release.
Wide receiver Irani DeAraujo, linemen Anthony Amoo and Maurice Bowers and defensive back Isiejah Allen will all return to the Steelhawks next season.
DeAraujo recorded 275 receiving yards and five touchdowns in five games this past season before suffering a season-ending neck injury.
Amoo made seven tackles in four games before an injury ended his season early.
Allen, a defensive back out of Fordham University who joined the Steelhawks midway through their inaugural season, had two interceptions and 27 tackles for Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh Valley also added wide receiver John Halman, the 2011 Indoor Football League Rookie of the Year Runner-Up. Halman racked up 703 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Fairbanks Grizzlies last season.
Lineman Joshua Pugh, who is out of the University of Alabama, also joined the squad. Wide receiver and quarterback James Steadman and linemen Derrick Zieglar and BJ Taylor are other new team members.
Lehigh Valley went 4-10 in its first season.
Last week, the team announced six other players who will return for a second season.
