Tri-Cities Fever receiver Giovanni Stanley signed a contract with the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday, July 27. Tri-Cities Fever running back Dennis Kennedy was signed to the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League practice squad earlier this week.
Stanley, who is out of Whittier College, played in just one game for the Fever, catching four passes for 26 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Fairbanks on March 12
"We are very proud of what Giovanni has accomplished. As an organization we take great pride in being part of his path to the highest level! We recruit high level talent here in Tri- Cities and we hope this is the first of many from our United Bowl team fulfilling their dream," said Fever coach Adam Shackleford.

Kennedy played in 11 games for the Fever this past season and was instrumental in helping the team to the Indoor Football League championship game.
Kennedy (5-foot-10, 215 pounds) led the Fever in rushing with 75 carries for 267 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also fourth on the team with 40 receptions for 307 yards and nine touchdowns.
"Dennis Kennedy is an explosive player that can run between the tackles and can catch the ball out of the backfield," said Fever coach Adam Shackleford. "I think he will be a great fit in the CFL.
"I will continue to work hard to move our players up from this past season. Tri-Cities is the place to play in the IFL because our connections give players the opportunity to advance their career. We don't stop working for our players."
Fever owner, Teri Carr, praises Coach Shackleford for part of the success of these players. "Coach tells them when they sign with the Fever that if they are willing to work hard and do the right things he will help them get to the next level. He is a very unselfish. Over the course of this season there were players that were needed on the field for the Fever, but in the best interest of the player he would promote them so that they could further their career."
Carr is speaking of Offensive Lineman, Michael Brown, who was signed to the Harford Colonials of the UFL. Defensive Lineman, Tyrell Graham, signed with the BC Lions of the CFL and Linebacker, Jason Beauchamp, is now with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL.
