DANVILLE, IL – The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) is pleased to announce that the expansion team that will play its games in Danville, IL will be known as the Danville Dragons.
The Dragons, which will start play in 2012, are owned by David Hawkins. Hawkins is currently employed at the El Paso County Sheriffs Office and will be looking to retire in early 2012. He is also the owner of PDHawk Investments. Danville is one of six expansion teams, three in the North Division, that will begin play in 2012.
Danville will play its home games at Palmer Arena, with single game tickets starting at $7.
The team also announced its new logo, design by Traction, and the team’s color scheme. The Dragons will be dark blue, light blue, green and gold. Their website, www.danvilledragons.com, will be available soon.
Hawkins currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO with his wife, Pauline. They are the proud parents of Michael, 27, Robert, 25, Nicole, 24, Carol Linn, 17, and Ian, 6.

All of the six original teams – Canton, Ohio, Johnstown, Pa., Huntington, WVa., Pikeville, Ky., Highland Heights, Ky., and Saginaw Mich. – completed the season without any missed games.
