FORT MYERS, FL - The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) has set an expansion deadline for accepting any teams - new or existing - to join the league for the upcoming season.
In order to effectively finalize plans for the 2012 season all applications must be submitted and approved by Friday, August 12. The UIFL plans to begin working on the 2012 schedule soon after the deadline with a goal of making an official announcement before October 1st.
"It is important that we finalize and release our 2012 schedule as soon as possible," commented UIFL president Andrew Haines. "We want to make sure that UIFL teams have proper time to promote their home schedule to insure they are in the best position for long term success".
Other items on the league's preseason schedule include officially establishing divisional alignment. The league currently stands at 12 teams following the expansion of six teams to go along with the league's six original teams.
