A press conference was held to announce the community about the return of an indoor football team for Spring 2012
A 3-year agreement was made between Laredo Energy Arena General Manager Xavier Villalon and Team President Chad Dittman for the New Indoor Football Team.
Dittman currently has ownership in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi football teams and is ready to bring an indoor football team back in Laredo.
Although the LEA is already home to the Laredo Bucks, Dittman plans to work hand in hand to promote local sports.
“We have a tough act to follow but we are going to work very hard,” said Dittman, about Laredo’s hockey team. Dittman also mentioned an important part of the football games, which are ticket prices.
The community will be able to enjoy football games with the family without breaking the bank. A season ticket is only $48 and the most expensive season ticket, which is in the sideline club, is $250.
He is already talking to local charities and nonprofit organizations to help them out in any way possible while also promoting the new team. New ideas are coming about but the experience you will receive when attending this event, is much more than just a football game.
Cheerleaders, mascot, games and halftime entertainment is what will be different and exciting from other local games. The entertainment such as Crazy George, who invented the wave, will make special appearances throughout the season.
“Top acts from all over the nation will be present at the game.” A “Name the Team Contest” begins today and ends on July 22nd at 5:00 p.m.. The winner will receive lifetime front row season tickets along with other prizes.
Although the name, logo and players have not been picket, season tickets are now on sale at www.laredofootball.net or you can call 956-324-3662. Laredo will have temporary offices at the LEA, so the search for a head coach, cheerleaders and staff is underway.
You can visit the team website for more information and to fill out any application.
