www.mysouthwestga.com/sports/story.aspx?list=194925&id=640781ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Panthers still fresh off of a 69-48 Southern Indoor Football League Championship victory already have one key commitment for next year’s run.
Panthers quarterback Cecil Lester is ready to sign his name on the 2012 roster. The veteran QB was crucial to the team's postseason success this year throwing 24 touchdowns in the playoffs.
The 2010 league MVP’s return is barring any setbacks from an injured left knee this offseason. Panthers head coach Lucious Davis said the team's championship win is what's motivating the player to return.
“I think had we lost or had the season ended like it did the year before. Then, I think he (Lester) probably wouldn't have come back. I think he proved a lot to himself that he can do it...and I think he wants to come back as a challenge to repeat,” Davis said.
