Four Steel players honored with All-Star selectionswww.trentonian.com/articles/2011/07/07/sports/doc4e164da1b0f8e762883668.txtFour Steel players were named to the Southern Indoor Football All-Star Team, the league announced yesterday.
Wideout Dan Huff and kicker Craig Camay were First Team picks, while quarterback E.J. Nemeth, a Notre Dame High product, and receiver Oderick Turner both got Second Team nods.
The league’s coaches voted on the All-Star teams.
Nemeth finished second in the SIFL in total offense, passing for 3,169 yards and running for another 160. He was responsible for 97 touchdowns this season (70 passing, 27 rushing).
As a reward for his stellar play, Nemeth, who played collegiatly at Sacred Heart, signed with the Arena Football League’s Utah Blaze yesterday.
Huff had 83 receptions (15 touchdowns), Camay converted 96 extra points and 21 field goals and Turner was second in the SIFL in receiving yards per game with 108.4.
The Steel finished the season 8-4 and reached the playoffs. The league’s Player of the Year and Coach of the Year will be announced today. Steel coach Rod Miller is a nominee for Coach of the Year.
