FORT MYERS, FL - The Ultimate Indoor Football League is pleased to announce a one year contract extension with Director of Officials Mike Zyglis. In addition to handling the duties of Director of Officials, Zyglis will also become the Deputy Commissioner for the UIFL.
"We are excited to have Mike back for our second season. He was a huge asset to the UIFL last season, and we look forward to having is experience on our side." Said UIFL President Andrew Haines
Zyglis was hired for the inaugural UIFL season as Director of Officials. He is responsible for the hiring and training of all on field officials. In addition he will be working with the UIFL Commissioner.
"The inaugural season of the UIFL was extremely successful. There was enormous interest with regards to working as an official in the new league. We received applications from some of the very best of Arena as well as NCAA officials. This had a lot to do with the initial success of the league. As a result there are several new teams already signed to the league for next season, with several more awaiting reply to their applications. Andrew Haines and Michael Taylor have done an exceptional job marketing the league and as a result the UIFL was the most successful first year indoor football league in the last 15 years, with the 2nd season shaping up to be even bigger and better." Added UIFL Director of Officials & Deputy Commissioner Mike Zyglis
The Ultimate Indoor Football League is currently interviewing candidates for UIFL Commissioner for the 2012 season. Once the interviewing process is completed, the league will announce the new Commissioner.
