Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Round 2 of the 2011 IFL Playoffs. Each week the IFL selects three players, one from each phase of the game, offense, defense, and specials teams, whose play on the field stood out among the rest of the competition. The Playoffs Round 2 Players of the week are listed as follows:
Offensive Players of the Week: Kewan Dewberry, QB, Allen Wranglers
Dewberry showed up for the Allen Wranglers during their battle against the Fairbanks Grizzlies for a spot in the Semi-Finals for the Intense Conference. Dewberry completed 22 of 32 passes for a total of 287 yards. Dewberry's awareness and accuracy led to 8 touchdowns and the victory for the Allen Wranglers. Dedrick Poole, WR, Allen Wranglers
The IFL had to also acknowledge the stand-out performance by wide receiver, Dedrick Poole in the game against the Fairbanks Grizzlies. Poole had a total of 6 catches from QB Kewan Dewberry for 146 yards. Of the 8 passing touchdowns from QB Dewberry, Poole caught 6 helping the Wranglers move forward in the finals.
Defensive Player of the Week: Jeremiah Price, DL, Green Bay Blizzard
Price was a major force for the Green Bay Blizzard during the first round of playoffs against the Reading Express. Price had 5 tackles, 3.5 of which were for a loss, and a forced fumble. Price was a major hindrance for the Express's QB by sacking him 2.5 times and getting a safety. Price's performance allowed the Green Bay Blizzard to move on to face the Sioux Falls Storm in the Semi-Finals for the United Conference.
Special Teams Players of the Week: Josh Shene, K, Green Bay Blizzard
Shene found great success in the Saturday evening game against the Reading Express making 3 of 4 field goal attempts. Not only was he successful with field goals, but he was 7 of 7 in extra points; Shene totaled 16 points for the Green Bay Blizzard, which helped give the Blizzard the advantage and victory.
