Green Bay, WI: The Green Bay Blizzard travel to Sioux Falls South, Dakota next weekend with some extra motivation behind them. With a win against the Storm, the Blizzard will host the IFL United Bowl Championship game. This will mark the first time in the team's nine year history that the league championship game would be held in Green Bay. The #2 seeded Green Bay Blizzard will travel to #1 seeded Sioux Falls Storm on July 9th, in a battle for the United Conference Championship. The winner will have the honor of hosting the IFL Championship game. Head Coach Rik Richards said "This is a major motivational tool for both players and coaches. Knowing in the back of our minds what is ahead of us and if we can take care of business we will get to play in the Resch in front of the best fans anywhere. It's huge for us." Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm in Sioux Falls, and this game will be broadcasted live online through the America One Network.
The championship game will stay in the United Conference because the highest remaining seed will host the game. In the Intense Conference, the #1 seeded Colorado Ice were defeated by the #4 seeded Tri-Cities Fever last night on a last second field goal 45-42. Friday night, the #2 seeded Fairbanks Grizzles were defeated by the # 3 seeded Allen Wranglers 72-54.
