ALLEN, TX-The Allen Wranglers continue to make history in their inaugural IFL season; Sunday afternoon's game against the Wyoming Cavalry proved no different.
With a 27-20 over the Cavalry, the Wranglers kept their championship hopes alive. Wrangler head coach Chris MacKeown was excited about the win but more concerned with next week's matchup. "We are going to get a win next week," MacKeown said.
The Wrangler defense saw solid play from Frankie Solomon. Solomon had three interceptions and 30 yards returning on the night. Defensive back Nick Fellows was also solid defensively for the Wranglers with two interceptions on the night. Offensively, Wrangler running back Keithon Flemming ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Other Wranglers knocking in six points for the Wranglers were Jason Jones and Jackie Robinson, both with receptions from quarterback Kewan Dewberry.
The Wranglers will travel to Alaska this week to face the Fairbanks Grizzlies. A win in that game will put give them a spot in the Intense Conference final. From there, the Wranglers would face the winner of the United Conference in hopes of winning the United Bowl and being crowned the 2011 Indoor Football League champions.
