Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks hit the road for the final contest of their inaugural season. They return to Wisconsin this weekend for a rematch with the La Crosse Spartans. After a tough game in Green Bay last week, the Steelhawks look to get back on their winning ways as of late, they had a 3 game win streak going into Green Bay.
The Spartans are 4-9, sitting in last place in the tough Great Lakes Division. In their last game, the Spartans fell 45-29 at the hands of the Bloomington Extreme. On the season, the Spartans have been led by Quarterback Buddy Rivera and Running Back LaRon Council on offense and Defensive lineman X'zavie Jackson who is among the league leaders in sacks.
The Steelhawks, needing to fill positions due to injuries, will have a new look this week. Look for a quick secondary to shut down the Spartans passing attack. The Steelhawks will once again look to Running Back Isaiah Grier to pace the offense.
"We want to end on a high note," stated Head Coach Rich Britt. "We have a laundry list of injuries and will be short handed again this game. I guess it is the story of our season, but I guarantee these guys will fight hard. A win this weekend would give us a winning second half of our season which is something great we can build on for 2012."
Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. EST. For those who wish to view the game online, please visit www.b2livetv.com and look up the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks under the "TEAMS" Section.
