The Marion Blue Racers won their CIFL semifinal game against the Dayton Silverbacks 53-18 at Marion on Monday night. The victory sends Marion into the CIFL Championship Game at Cincinnati on Saturday, June 11. The win sets up a rematch of the regular season season’s two best teams and the finale in which the Commandos won.
This night, the game belonged to the Blue Racers from the outset. The opening stanza remained scoreless until the final two minutes of the quarter when Michael Hills sacked Dayton in the end zone. With a minute left, Christen Haywood ran in from two yards out. The score at the end of the first quarter was 9-0. The lone score of the second quarter can when Haywood again scored from two yards out. The halftime score was 16-0.

Marion responded with a final touchdown Brandon Williams caught a six yard pass from Harris. The game scoring concluded Jared Dorn recorded a safety. The final score was 53-18.
Dayton was led on offense by Taylor, who completed seven of 17 passes for 63 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Stover caught four passes for 32 yards and two touchdowns.
