Amarillo, TX 6/1/11 - The Amarillo Venom is asking you to support the Children's Miracle Network during the Radiothon and Celebration Broadcast June 2nd through June 5th. The Venom will be answering calls and taking donations Friday, June 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. until noon and are encouraging their fans to donate. The number to call to make a donation is 806-212-HELP (4357).
"The Children's Miracle Network is a great organization and we want to do everything we can to help them raise as much money as possible," said Joe Morgado, the Venom's general manager.
According to the Children's Miracle Network's Web site, the Children's Miracle Network gives donations to local children's hospitals. They know where the need is greatest and decide how that money is best spent.
"100 percent of the money we raise stays local," said Maegan Rowland, BSA's Children's Miracle Network Coordinator. "We get to listen to the needs of our hospital and our patients and decide how to allocate the funds."
Their sponsors conduct fundraisers and sell Miracle Balloons, their radio and television stations broadcast stories of medical miracles, and college students hold Dance Marathons-just a few of the ways they generate millions of dollars each year to help kids in need.
The Venom's home finale is June 6th the Bricktown Brawlers. Fans attending the June 6th game will have the opportunity to win $25,000 thanks to The People's Federal Credit Union. You can signup for your chance to win on the Venom's Web site www.govenom.com, or at the customer service desk prior to the game. The contestant will be drawn between the first and second quarters so anybody that has signed up already must be present to win.
The June 6th game will also be the Venom's fan appreciation night. The Venom will be giving out various prizes from their sponsor throughout the entire game. Don't miss your chance for lots of giveaways and an opportunity to win $25,000 thanks to The People's Federal Credit Union.
