With 11 teams does anyone see a change in the playoffs this season? Maybe seeing three teams from each division in the playoffs. First weekend 2 and 3 in each division play each other. Next weekend is divisional championships with 1 v 2. Weekend after that is the championship game.
Can or will this happen this season?

Exactly. No sense in having teams with losing records in the playoffs.

Top 2 teams from each division should help with no teams entering with losing records...........

This rewards the Div. champ with a 1st round bye & home field for the Div. championship game. Good, simple plan.

Top two teams in North and South. How can you have more than half the teams in the playoffs than are in the league. No don't go NBA with the APFL. If you go with teams number two and number three in each division, there is one travel date for those teams, if then the away team wins, then they must travel again, then if the away team wins again they will prob. have to travel to a third game for the Championships. WAY to much travel for that team with no income comming in. The only way that woudl work is if the league is going to pay for ALL travel exp. for the travel team comming in. Then you can have three per division. Remember people, this has never been a league that can keep all of the teams from start to finish, and has never been a league that has made all the away dates. The last thing that you would want is a team to not show up for a playoff game or a championship game because lack of funds. Also, with an extra playoff game in there, ALL the venues have to be avalible for all the playoff dates, GOOD LUCK with that too. Like everyone said before, KEEP IT SIMPLE.

There is a lot of merit to 4 teams, but in the end my guess is that 6 is the right combination. It is not the liberal "everyone gets in" nor the conservative "top 4 only". I'm sure there are several owners out there knowing that they might just not have a top 4 team (this year) but still want a shot. Even the NFL has wildcards and lately even the ultra conservative MLB has wildcards. I would say the 6 works. If it went down to 8 teams, 4 makes sense.

In the APFL right now, four almost virtually guarantees that we know the playoff matchups going into the season.
Iowa @ Kansas Conroe @ Beaumont
MAYBE flip flops of those.
Adding two more at least gives those lower-level teams a real shot at getting to the playoffs. That can't hurt recruiting.

WHY would anyone think that the Koyotes will be anywhere close to the Playoffs this year. Just because they bought, or fought to a Championship two years ago. They won two with NO comp. and they won the next two of three with more talent. They are WAY older, my understanding is they have no QB ,Coffin and Sherrman GONE, Sherman with the Wild,(UIF) Coffin How many times has he been gone. NO rec. Simpson Gone, Wreckee will go where Coffin goes, I would guess that would not be to the Koyotes. NO D-Line, Guys gone to FL, Guys are to old to play. WHO is left. No O-line, Barret GONE, Summers 50 years old, oh that was his number? Smith, What does he have to prove? if they are not there why would the other guy that came in??? and No DB's White, Broken Ankle, if he comes back would really help, but why would he, to good to put up with that, and to old to deal with it. Pettis, GONE, Fowler, Maybe, why would he? I think KU just won the Orange Bowl, Good enough for him... Simmons, only if fowler does, Biheray (Sp) another KU guy, I understand he will be there and will be a big asset, but him and Dewey can't do it alone. and why? I have just gone through the biggest part of the Koytoes Starting roster for the Championship game. The BEST Def. Player in the APFL, DEWEY, Will he be back He sat a year then came back. if he does he will be there by himself, for the most part. Then WHY would anyone think they will Beat first of all IOWA, or second Conroe, or the Drillers. Don't even talk about the coaches there. Def is Ok, Caryl, but unless Coffin comes in and calls the plays, like he did all of last year, they won't win 6 games out of 12. I will just say, No Championship game for the Koyotes unless there is a redo of 2006. Lets hope not.

I agree, I think it will be Iowa vs KS again this year. Out of all the teams in the league I dont think KS has anything to prove. Can anyone else beat them when it counts? Or are other teams just going to pout and whine?
Conroe needs to step it up, Kansas needs to step it up, Iowa and every other team out there needs to step it up.
I think this year is going to bring better competition to the league.
My Championship thoughts....
Beumont vs Iowa
* On a another subject, it sounds like the Minutemen are getting it together up here I saw a couple people wearing MM T-Shirts back around Thanksgiving time. I hear they signed a couple studs from MO West, Jacob Schoonover and J.R. Graham. I guess we will see what happends, it's still January
